Happy Monday!! We're excited to share our new forum: Service Portal User Group, a dedicated place for all users of the new Ciena Service Portal (my.ciena.com) to ask questions and share feedback and ideas. We've also created 11 quests to help you learn the new portal, share feedback and observations, and earn community rewards. Over the next two weeks, we'll feature a quest a day and today's featured quest is: Quest #1: Log in and share your first impressions. Did You Know
This week, on May 13, 1958, the trademark Velcro was registered, protecting the name of the multi-purpose material that helps keep our cables organized. Velcro was invented by Swiss electrical engineer George de Mestral in 1941 after he went for a walk in the woods and wondered by Burdock seeds cling to his coat and dog. Discovering that it could be turned into something useful, he patented it in 1955. De Mestral gave the name Velcro, a combination of the French words velour and crochet, to his invention and company.
Have a great week and keep networking!
