There was a lot of excitement in the room as the Ciena Atlanta Hackathon kicked off this Monday, September 24th. Teams were buzzing as Bruce Rigaud introduced the focus of this weeks Hackathon. Ciena’s Hackathons provide an excellent opportunity for customers, and technology partners to work on general use cases as well as their own use cases.
The MDSO Hackathons focus on the outcome of advancing use cases as well as developing the MDSO community. Attendees have the ability to network with peers, improve their developments skills, and collaborate with Blue Planet experts.
Future Hackathons will be delivered using a slightly more formalized approach. While the innovative nature of the Hackathon will persist, future Hackathons will have different tracks. Tracks focused on delivering introductory learning, working on general use cases, and a track working on customer and partner focused use cases. This approach should allow for highly focused Hackathons while maintaining the organic, collaborative atmosphere.
Representatives from each organization gave an overview of the use cases they intended on working on during the Hackathon. Solutions touching every layer in the stack were brought up creating much excitement and curiosity from the audience.
Teams worked late into the evening designing their solutions while raiding the snack bin and telling jokes. Based on the jovial yet intense atmosphere of the first day, this is going to be a productive Hackathon for all of the attendees.
Developers gonna develop.
