In 2018, 15% of people included learning a new skill as a New Year's Resolutions.1 Well, it's your lucky day because we're here to help you achieve this goal and delighted to announce the 52 Weeks of Learning Challenge

 

In the 52 Weeks of Learning Challenge, members of the Ciena Community have a chance to win a one-year subscription to the new Ciena Learn Develop Series to build their Packet-Optical, Packet and Software skills.  Learn more about how the challenge works and you can participate below.  

 

How it Works

Participate in the I Love Acronyms and This Week I Learned discussions for a chance to win a one-year subscription to the Ciena Learning Develop Series.

 

52 Weeks of Learning Challenge will have four rounds where three members will win a one-year subscription to the Ciena Learning Develop Series for a total of twelve winners. Members that receive the most points during each round will have a chance to win. Members can only win once.

 

52 Weeks of Learning will run from February 5, 2018 through January 6, 2019 starting today, Monday, February 5, 2018, with the first I Love Acronyms.

How to Participate

 

I Love Acronyms (ILA)

Every other week, starting February 5th, an acronym used in telecom will be posted and we'll ask the community to tell us what it means. Members will post their response as a comment to the discussion and the following points can be earned on active2 acronyms.

 

  • All correct answers receive: 5 points
  • First correct answer receives: 10 bonus points
  • Most creative answer receives: 10 bonus points

This Week I Learned (TWIL)

Every Friday, starting February 9th, we'll post a TWIL discussion asking members of the community to share what they learned during the week. On TWIL, we invite the community to share one thing they've learned during the week on the job, attending a course, event or webinar, reading online, or even when asking a question in the community.

 

Every member that participates on the TWIL discussion will earn 20 points. Points will only be rewarded for comments posted the day of publication to the following Friday, so Friday – Thursday.

 

We recommend following Learning to receive updates when TWIL discussions are posted.

 

52 Weeks of Learning Leaderboard

Leaderboards will be updated every Monday and dated. Winners of each round will be announced on this blog in the comments.
