In my case, I recently re-entered the telecommunications industry after being away for a few years and I needed to brush up on some telecom basics. I wanted to take an online course, so I could complete it on my own schedule.

To open your Ciena account:
- Go to the Ciena Learning Solutions Management System page.
- Enter the requested information.
- Once you receive the confirmation email, activate your account and provide your password.
- Enter the Fiber Optic Fundamentals course name (or any other Open Curriculum course name that interests you) in the search bar of the learning portal.
- Enroll… and enjoy!
