Tags are keywords/phrases that you and others assign to content to make it easier to find when you search or filter for it. You can add tags to all content you create as well as any place you manage to improve the ability for search to find it.

To assign tags to content:

  1. Create a new piece of content by selecting Action > Content Type or click Edit on existing content, and then scroll to the Tag This section at the bottom of the page.
  2. Enter the keyword or keyword phrase for the tag. To finish the tag, hit the enter key or the comma button. Enter as many tags as needed and are relevant to the subject of the content.

You can also use inline tagging by adding tags on the fly, as you’re editing the body of the content. To do this, use the #, which is hash or pound sign, and follow it with the tag. For example, if you’re asking a question in 6500, you could say, “We’re implementing a project around #6500 soon and…”

Tagging Tips

Consider using existing tags that pop-up in the suggestion box. Existing tags are often assigned to related content, so it’s good practice to use them. An underscore can help with longer tags.

Speed Up Tagging

You can speed up tagging by changing your user preferences. To enable on-the-fly tagging, click your avatar in the upper right corner and then Preferences. Turn on Quick Tagging Mode and then click Save.
