am trying to configure snmp on 6500 devices , how can this be done ?
You can find the SNMP configuration settings under Configuration > SNMP in Site Manager. You can set your read communities and trap destinations from there. The default community names are in the Fault Management - SNMP documentation for the version you're running on your 6500s. Don't forget to enable the agent state on the Agent tab. I've been caught by that before, haha.
Note as well that for eMOTR and PKT fabric, the 6500 only supports SNMPv3 as the 6500 SP uses an SNMPv3 proxy for eMOTR and PKT fabric. In order to reach the eMOTR and PKT fabric devices, you need to retrieve the SNMP engine ID either via SNMP (OID 22.214.171.124.126.96.36.199.2 or snmpProxyTable), via the SAOS CLI (snmp show) or in Site Manager Configuration -> Equipment Group.
