I would like to know what is a OME6500 T12 Hybrid? It is a product line that you have and I would like to have a block diagram of it and a spec sheet on it. Also what makes it different than a 6500 T12 unit? Is it size? Is it Interface?
Hi Wade, thanks for reaching out get more info on our 6500-T12 shelf configuration. The 6500-T12 is part of our 6500 family of packet-optical platforms. The 6500 T-Series shelves, that are comprised of the T12 and the T24, are designed for Terabit/s per slot of switching capacity. These shelves support a hybrid packet/OTN switched centralized fabric that leverages interfaces that are provisionable from 100 percent packet to 100 percent OTN. The T12 has 12 service card carrying slots and supports switching capacities of 6 Tb/s in half a rack, with the ability to scale to 12 Tb/s in the future. Here are some links to additional information that may be useful:

Hope this helps and don't hesitate to reach out if you have additional questions.
Would you say that they would call it a Hybrid due to that fact that it has switching capabilities also?
Wade, I believe (and Paula can correct me if I'm wrong) that the "Hybrid" moniker is also meant to distinguish the PKT/ OTN switching variant of the T12 with the "Photonic Only" variant of the shelf.
So it is because it is a switch and photonic device. How many async ports does it use for the switch or photonic config.?
Hi Wade and Brandon, to add clarification to the above, the 'hybrid' refers to the switching fabric that supports any degree of packet and OTN switching. This means the 6500 can operate as a full OTN or native packet switch (or any mix of these) with no capacity or functionality constraints. This is not a characteristic of the T12 only, it is for any 6500 shelf that has a switching fabric.
The T12 also supports photonic modules along with the packet/OTN switching modules and the centralized fabric. As Brandon mentioned, for sites with only photonic requirements, there is a cost-optimized version of the T12 that supports only photonic modules. This variant can't be equipped with any Packet/OTN switching cards or modules.
I hope this helps.
