Tuesday, January 23rd is National Handwriting Day. When was the last time you wrote more than meeting notes or a grocery list on a piece of paper? If you’re not sure, Tuesday is your chance to re-introduce one’s self to the a pen, or pencil, and a piece of paper. The national day was started in 1977 by the Writing Instrument Manufacturers Association. They chose January 23rd because it is the birthday of John Hancock, the first person to sign the Declaration of Independence. In addition to promoting a day to re-explore the purity and power of handwriting, the association also wanted promote the consumption of pens, pencils and writing paper. Happy writing!!
