Tuesday, January 30th, 2018 is National Plan for Vacation Day. Falling on the last Tuesday in January, it is a day to remind us to plan our vacation at the start of the year for the rest of the year. In 2016, Americans collectively sacrificed 662 million vacations days according to the U.S. Travel Association’s Project Time Off. In 2016, unused vacation days cost the U.S. economy $236 billion because of lost spending, while employees that forfeit vacation time are lower performers as they’re less likely to get promoted or receive a raise or bonus. Even if it isn't Tuesday, this week is the time to begin determining how much time off you earn, coordinating calendars, and sharing your plans with colleagues and family for how you'll be using your vacation days. Where are you planning to go on vacation this year?
