How to interpret LED for speed on 3930

We have a 3930 provided by AT&T.  One of the ports is for a 100 Mbps connection to a remote office and is handed off as a fiber SFP.  Currently, we connect that into a TrippLite fiber converter which converts it to 1000BaseT.  I'm trying to eliminate the fiber converter and run the connection directly into a Cisco Nexus 5548UP.  Problem is, when I go right into the Nexus, I'm not getting a link.  I'm wondering if the speed setting might be an issue.  It looks like the SFP I'm using in the Nexus is only capable of 1000 Mbps, but I suspect the Ciena port is set for 100 Mbps.  Can anyone confirm how the 3930 shows the connected speed on the LED for the interface?
