It's not clear from Data Sheet, PBB-TE features are listed but with this footnote : * Denotes features available in a future release.
Is it a hardware or firmware release, can someone elaborate please?
The answer is "yes, but..." :-)
PBB-TE has given way to MPLS-TP these days, so I wouldn't advise considering it for a new installation. Is is there, but the latest software no longer supports it.
As for the datasheet, it should be updated soon to show this.
Hope this helps.
Hi Sergii, please hang tight while I get in touch with our Ciena SMEs to help clarify. Welcome to the Ciena Community too!
PBB-TE has been supported on the 3916 since at least SAOS Release 6.14 prior to Release 6.14 it would have most likely been referred to as PBT and how feature complete it was at that time I'm not entirely sure.
You can read more about the PBB-TE implementation in the 009-3265-042 documentation pack which comes with SAOS 6.14.0 and newer.
Many thanks for the answers!
Just wanted to clarify this, since I'm looking for a lab device to play with - more features is better.
If you have specific configurations, we would be more than happy to respond accordingly.
John Hawkins is correct. Ciena has adopted the newer protocols and as the rest of the industry has also complied.
But, these are a few of the commands, past and preset in the present Software.

Hi Sergii, just confirming specifically in regards to PBB-TE support on 3916.
PBB-TE was introduced on 3916 as of SAOS 6.10.1, and PBB-TE is supported up to release SAOS 6.15.
Features in future releases usually indicates Software. But, firmware are now included in software updates, if any are needed. It is not visible to the user, as I recall.
One more comment. You can find the supported features and allowable MAX levels and other Values, using the CLI.
